If you do not have any Sources attached to your records you will not, as yet, have a Source Detail Screen. Whether or not you use SourceWriter, Sources are created in 2 parts - the Master and the Detail. The Master Source is the part which is fairly general and can be applied to many different people - such as Birth Certificate or Census. The Source Detail is the specifics which are added to make the Source specific to one (or a few) people or occasions. So Birth Certificate issued by the GRO is the Master, and you add the name of the person, the date & place of birth etc as the Detail. Once you have created a Master Source and attached it to an individual's Fact(s) or Event(s) you will be presented with the Source Detail screen to add the additional information there.
