You are correct that you will be unable to print doc files in the reports, so if the aim is to produce a printed version of his tree your decision not to save the docs is valid. You may I have gathered that I do attach all my documents to sources so that I have easy access to them should I wish to check something in the history of a person, as happens on most days.
