I was changing the status of a child to "step" and made an error of not noticing that the surname was of the step parent.
I then made the correction back to the correct surname of the child. I was not careful enough (again) to the change of surname edit. When I asked Legacy to save the change I did not consider the option of making the change for everyone connected to this child Now, I guess you might see what is coming. Now all of my family has his surname. I have corrected my personal record thinking that I would run into the option of making all my ancestors have their correct surname back. It did not happen! How do I fix this without doing each of several hundred family members? I have made this mistake during a large and long entry/change episode. I have not made incremental and small back-ups as I should have. A warning to those who do not back-up regularly and in small increments. I do hope there is a way to correct my error.
