Hi Kirsten, Like the FamilySearch Catalog (formerly the Family History Library Catalog), my master source list is basically setup with the two divisions of locality and surname. So a book like "The Brown Family" would be sorted in my list as "BROWN - The Brown Family" so all Brown-specific sources are grouped. I guess I don't really have a special organizational system for things like "Find A Grave" - I just look for them under their name.
Hope this helps clarify some, Geoff ==================================== From: Kirsten Bowman [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Sunday, October 30, 2011 11:08 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [LegacyUG] Geoff: Source List Arrangement? Geoff: In your last “Watch Geoff Live” you mentioned having sorted your Master Source List by entering the location first in the Source List Name since that’s the way many records are found at Family Search. I do like the concept of having, for example, all New York, Dutchess Co., birth, marriage, death records, cemeteries, newspapers, etc. grouped together in the Master Source List, but how do you handle things like published genealogies, family bibles, or the dozens of other things that might not be location-specific? Thanks so much for doing this series. It’s very informative to see how you use Legacy and there always seem to be tips to pick up in addition to the main topic.
