Robert said to "clear ALL tags" ... IOW check "Untag", set the correct Tag #, and press the "Everyone" button. At least this is the procedure in V6. In your original post (not plain text so I didn't see it) you said you were only clearing the tags of the ancestors. Since these people are no longer ancestors, pressing the "Ancestors..." button won't work.
