Hi Rich,

The web page(s) you've created with Legacy already contain the HTML code
- that's been done by Legacy for you. You can edit the HTML code if you
wish - you can open the pages in any text editor (if you know what
you're doing!) or use a program such as Komposer (free) or Microsoft
FrontPage (not free), etc.

Now you need to organise some web space to host your pages, if you want
them on the web.

Some ISPs give you web space along with your email service, others will
sell you space if you request it. Then there are web sites that
specialise in hosting pages for people, either for free or for a fee.

I see you're using Yahoo for your mail. They used to have free space
(GeoCities) but that ended a while back and I don't know what they offer
these days.

You may like to take a look at Rootsweb - they offer "FreePages" web
space, which I use. I don't put pages from Legacy there, but you can if
that's what you want. http://accounts.rootsweb.ancestry.com/ There's
good peer support there in the shape of a mailing list dedicated to
users of FreePages.

If you go with FreePages you'll need an FTP program to upload your pages
to the web server. I use FileZilla, which is free.

There's also another mailing list, "WUL" whose description is:

"The Group is a self-help group for genealogists wishing to create and
improve their websites which are based on the Legacy genealogical
software. In particular its aim is to give support to those with no
knowledge of website construction.

"It is also anticipated that the group will assist those with more
experience in overcoming the programming questions/problems relating to
Legacy which we all meet and try to overcome on a regular basis."

It's run by Ron Ferguson who is a regular on this list. You'll find it
at http://uk.groups.yahoo.com/group/WUL/

Hope this helps you get started! :-)

Kind Regards,
Wendy
