My answer to the Legacy part is I refer to it on and off all day. I have an area database and I field questions. If I am not going to be doing that I turn it off. I've tried doing it with GEDCOMs and Families on portable devices but it isn't the same. Sometimes the best thing is to create a family group sheet, print to pdf and attach to my response for example.
