To avoid this sort of effor in the future I would suggest that you save your back-ups somewhere quite different to where your working file is kept (you should be doing this anyway) and got to Options>General, check the box for "Always open this file" and select your working file in the box below. It also sounds as though your "backups" are not the zip files created by Legacy Backup, as these need to be Restored, not Opened as you do with a normal family file. If you use Legacy Backup you will can choose where to save the backup file and you have the option to have the current date and/or time appended to the filename so there would never be doubt as to which was your latest backup. -- Jenny M Benson Legacy User Group guidelines: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Etiquette.asp Archived messages after Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Archived messages from old mail server - before Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Online technical support: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Help.asp Follow Legacy on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/LegacyFamilyTree) and on our blog (http://news.LegacyFamilyTree.com).
