Carol, As far as I know the only way to search for a location using the search box at the top of the screen is to search from left to right using the layout select. I have my list sorted to read from right to left – so I would enter, England, Lancashire, Eccles, Victoria Street to find Victoria Street.
Why Legacy doesn’t enable one to search on any word I cannot imagine, it is a very easy change to make and I would suggest that you enter it as an enhancement (see under the Legacy tab – ‘suggest a new feature’) Ron Ferguson http://www.fergys.co.uk/ From: cr brassfield Sent: Sunday, January 22, 2012 11:23 AM To: [email protected] Subject: [LegacyUG] Location master list Hi, firstly thanks to everyone who responded with my earlier problems. Hopefully the install/saving data etc is now resolved. This morning I was searching some on-line records when I saw a street address (Victorian London's east end) that looked familiar and so I went to Location Master List and entered the street name. It came up empty but I was sure that I had it in my file so I scrolled down the list. It was there. I had only entered the street, not the house number as I wasn't looking for a particular house. The list showed the full address. Am I entering the information incorrrectly under 'addresses', or should just putting in the street name have shown a result?
