Genealogy, like so many other activities, has acquired various "rules" for "best practice" which have been developed by expert and professional users over the years so that there is some sort of standardization and agreement about how best to present information. That doesn't mean to say that everyone has to follow such "rules" slavishly if they choose not to do so. But those who want to be taken seriously by experts and professionals, or who aspire to be experts or professionals themselves will attempt to do things as they "should" be done. So to expand on what Sherry wrote, "Locations should always be entered as they were at the time of the event, but you are free to do it differently if you so choose." -- Jenny M Benson Legacy User Group guidelines: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Etiquette.asp Archived messages after Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Archived messages from old mail server - before Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Online technical support: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Help.asp Follow Legacy on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/LegacyFamilyTree) and on our blog (http://news.LegacyFamilyTree.com).
