Craziness! I tried Paul’s link, entered my old registration info, and got a
message that it was already used by someone (of course). So then I entered a
different name and password (same e-mail address) and FINALLY got in. LUG list
members who are having trouble getting access might try the link below and
enter fresh registration data. Good luck!

Thanks to Paul and all for the help!

Kirsten

Oops. Sent wrong link. Was trying to shortcut the process. On this page, follow
click here to open the registration page, then sign in (upper right) and follow
the prompts.

Hi Kirsten,

Despite some having registered (i.e. got on a waiting list) in the past, it
appears that if you re-request new.familysearch.org access now, you have a good
chance of being granted access. If you already have a ‘regular’ Family Search
account, it’s sort of like an upgrade for additional access.

We are not going directly to new.familysearch.org as you apparently are.

We are going here

https://ident.familysearch.org/cip-web/pages/registration/campaignRegistration.html

signing in with our existing account and following the instructions. It’s this
specific process which others have used in the last day or two to get access,
even though they like you had previously registered for access but not had it
granted.

If this isn’t what you are doing, try it. It should work.

Hoping this helps...

I registered for New Family Search when they first announced the system—and
they promised to send an e-mail notification when I could have access. That
must have been a year or two ago at least, but I heard nothing. Then when
non-LDS folks started getting access a few months ago I registered again but
still couldn’t get in. I tried again today and got the usual “Your account is
not ready for new.familysearch.org” message.

What are you lucky LUG list members doing to get access granted? Is it a
regional thing? (I’m in Oregon.)
