Sorry, there was an error in my previous reply. I got confused between
GEDCOM files and backups.

Do not worry about the change to an Adobe file. All that means is that
Windows "thinks" that files with extension .ged should be opened by
Adobe. Telling you how to change file associations to change this is not
really a topic for this Legacy Users list. but right click on the GEDCOM
file and select Open with. If you do not see the correct program in the
list you can browse for the correct program. Note: a GEDCOM file is
really a text file so you should associate it with a text editor like
Notepad.

How are you "changing" the backup location? What is the original
location and where do you change it to?
