The Postal Code field for Addresses (the little house icon) is a text field so
it will accept your Dublin post codes. You can do a Detailed Search for
Address-Postal Code.

Or you can add an Event/Fact named Post Codes and add the code to the
Description. Then you can do a Detailed Search for Event-Description Equal to 1
36 L7 (or whichever code you want).

Try both and see which gives the best results for your use. Legacy is very
flexible so there really is no right or wrong way to do things. It all depends
on what you prefer.

Good luck.

Terri

Subject: [LegacyUG] Can I do this and if so how ?

Good morning on a beautiful day in Sydney where I have just joined the list
in the hope that someone will be able to give me some suggestions please.

I am doing a OneName study and am wanting to be able to add Dublin post
codes and to be able to search these for all those in the database.

For example I have 1 36 L7; 1 35 K7; 1 43 K8; 2 44 L10; 2 43 K8; 6 49 K12; 7
42 H8

Where should I add these and how would I then search all of them ?

I hope I have made myself clear.

Cheers from Valerie in sunny Sydney
