* Add the child to both parents. * right click on that child (or any child of the parents for that matter) * Click on Children's settings in the pop-up menu * Make sure the correct child is highlighted in the resulting pop-up window * Change the "Relationship to father" to ADOPTED * NOTE - you normally would NOT use the "Child status" to show adopted (I did this originally). Instead, use the "Relationship to xxx" fields to indicate it individually for each parent. * I wish there was an option for this field to pop up automatically when a child was added (just like when we add a marriage the marriage detail screen shows up). That way we would remember to set this stuff. By default, the relationship is set to BLANK (i.e. - to NOTHING). I say the auto-pop-up would be an OPTIONAL setting because some folks might consider setting these fields as a pain, but some of us would find it helpful. (Yes, I have put in a formal suggestion for this.)
