The chromebook does not run Microsoft Windows but has its own operating system. 
 It is great for internet browsing if you like the chrome browser and can use 
the google cloud based applications.  If they ever develop a virtual machine 
that might run Windows then Windows based applications might run on it.  Legacy 
is Windows based.  The other possibility is that an app might be developed to 
run on it like those available for iPad.Ron Taylor
