I am not Sherry, but you will find that any program that displays thumbnails will have this issue. The problem is the generation of said thumbnails to be displayed. Larger the image file the longer and more memory it is going to need make the thumbnail.
Even if you are running a 64 bit OS, the program is 32 bit one. Therefore only the first 3.5 gigs of ram will be used. Once you start using 64 bit programs then more RAM Wilone's used.
