I turned off the printing of everything in the report options to get the shortest version, but the vitals for each person are included. I found that my "first missing ancestor" would be #32. However, the report doesn't really give me a clue whose father that is... So, it assumes we know how the numbers relate, right? And it is #16's father, right? I think this stripped down version is fine for the stated requirement, especially since it's not like you're going to print it. Mine is only 6 pages anyway for 10 generations. At best, Legacy provides a semi-stripped down ancestor report which passes for an Ahnentafel Report. IMHO, an Ahnentafel Report simply provides the following: #1. My name #2. My father's name #3. My mother's name #4. My father's father's name #5. My father's mother's name #6. My mother's father's name #7. and on Legacy adds much more, such as information pertaining to the parents of each person above, generation numbers, spouses, and on. Howland wishes "to create a short Ahnentafel report in order to find my first unknown ancestor ." I would like to do that for my family also, but the Legacy report is *NOT* short, not concise, etc., as the generally accepted Ahnentafel Report is.
