Mark, If I remember correctly Ancestry does not recognise the “not living” field; I suspect that the person in your file would be less than their upper life span limit (not sure whether that is 100yrs or 100+), and is, therefore, recorded as living.
I don’t think that there is much you can do about this other than to include an “abt” death date in your record – you could put this in privacy brackets [[....]] so that it does not appear in your reports.
