If you edit the Master Source, when you save your changes you will be asked if you want to apply the changes to all references to that Master Source or whether you wish to create a new one. I presume you do not wish to retain the original as well as the new one, so you would opt to apply the changes. However, you cannot do a mass insertion of the Source Details, these will have to be added to each record where you have used the relevant Master Source. Unfortunately, you cannot use the Source Clipboard to copy only the Source Details so you can either enter the Detail as required for each record or you can enter the Detail the first time, copy the entire Citation to the Source Clipboard then paste it as require, deleting the Master-Source-wthout-Source-Details version as you go along. Should you wish to retain the old Master Source for use at another time do this: Make a small change to the Source List Name (such as adding the word "temp". Click Save and opt to create a new Master Source. Now open the original again and make all the changes you want so it becomes the new Master Source and this time click Save and opt to apply the changes. Now open the "temp" one again, delete the word "temp" from its name and Save it again. -- Jenny M Benson Legacy User Group guidelines: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Etiquette.asp Archived messages after Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Archived messages from old mail server - before Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Online technical support: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Help.asp Follow Legacy on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/LegacyFamilyTree) and on our blog (http://news.LegacyFamilyTree.com).
