Charani, If I may correct you, your statement "Since census records always contain race" should read Since U.S.A. census records always contain race".

The advantage of using the Events/Facts dialog box for stating important facts, such as race/nationality, is that it's there as soon as you open that person's record: no having to remember it or hunt around for it. I rarely use it except for such important events and/or facts. -- Charani (UK) OPC for Walton, Ashcott, Shapwick, Greinton and Clutton, SOM http://wsom-opc.org.uk Legacy User Group guidelines: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Etiquette.asp Archived messages after Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Archived messages from old mail server - before Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Online technical support: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Help.asp Follow Legacy on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/LegacyFamilyTree) and on our blog (http://news.LegacyFamilyTree.com).
