That is not the problem in this case.  I think one can't get boxes and
colours when putting 6 generations on a page because then are too busy.

However, I have looked into my problem further and I think I see the
root of it now.  It would appear that none of my 4th great grandparents
and beyond are getting the Ancestor Colours added to the little box next
to the three Tag boxes just above their names on the Family View.  When
any of these persons appears as the first name on a Pedigree Chart page
no colours are produced.

This is why the appearance/non-appearance of colours seems to vary
according to the starting-person and/or the number of gens to a page.
The boxes are printed a certain colour across the width of the page
according to the colour of the first person on that line so as long as
that first person is "less" than a 4th great the colours are printed
correctly, but if the first person on a page is a 4th great the colour
of that person isn't found so no one on that page gets a colour.

I feel I can now give Support a more precise explanation of the problem.
