Honestly, I don't keep track of every single internet search I do.  If I did 
that, I would be completely bogged down.  Most of the stuff on my to-do list 
are records I have written off for.

I agree with what you and Marian, etal, are doing for formal Research and I do 
that when taking trips to various repositories.
I may be wrong but I think what Tim was addressing was how to keep track of the 
random online browsing moments. I do that as well. I have an Individual or 
Family screen open for reference and do searches online leading to who knows 
where or what. I try to keep track of these so I do not keep repeating the same 
search over and over.
Of course I record what I need to do in a ToDo list for follow on research.
Maybe this isn't the best approach but it's what I do.
