Well Rita, one of us has a memory lapse because I remember it being the way it 
is now with no surname entered.

In the UK, or at least in England and Wales, that makes sense because it is not 
obligatory for the mother’s surname to be used where the father’s surname is 
not given.

I just added two children to a woman.  I do not have their fathers name.  
Legacy did not automatically fill in a surname.  It seemed that in the past 
under these circumstances Legacy would use the mother’s surname in the absence 
of the fathers information.  Am I remembering correctly or has it always been 
this way, and if not is it now supposed to be this way?
