I have had some problems with my computer and now have doubts about the current
Legacy file I am working on.
My aim is to Restore a zip file from a time when I knew all my work was up to
date.
Looking in the Legacy\Data folder I find there are considerably more files for
my Liddell line than for others.
Admittedly the other lines are much smaller than my Liddell line as I have
merged them all into the one file of Liddell but retained the originals.
Prior to the merge, my other lines only have two or three files and they have
the following extensions of fdb and TC or fdb, TC and Rc3.
My Liddell line currently has the following files;
Liddell.fdb 8,868kb Legacy Genealogy Software 6/8/2012
Liddell.FG 74kb FG file
9/11/2010
Liddell.fsd 1,078kb FSD file
6/10/2010
Liddell. IGI 316kb IGI file
26/08/2008
Liddell.Rc3.Cal 1340kb CAL file
10/10/2011
Liddell.Rel.Cal 208kb CAL file
10/03/2010
Liddell.TC 1kb TC file
6/08/2012
Liddell.~IGI.IGI 316kb IGI file
26/08/2008
Liddell~PPL.PPL 164kb PPL file
5/12/2009
Liddell~Rc3.Rc3 1,604kb Rc3 file
12/03/2012
Liddell~Rc3.Rc3.cal 1,384kb CAL file
17/03/2012
Liddell~RGD.RGD 376kn RGD file
10/09/2011
I would like to know;
(a) Why the Liddell line has more files than the others, ie. 7 files as against
2 or 3?
(b) If I do a Restore from a Zip file, which of the above files do I remove
from the data folder prior to the Restore, or do I remove all? I would put
them on a flash drive so they are still accessible in necessary.
(c) Why do the last five files have the tild and repeated extension.
I look forward to any help or suggestions from the very knowledgeable folks on
this List.
Colin.
