What I would do, if it is at all possible for you, is to use File>Restore Family File using a back-up from before the time you downloaded the Ancestry file. It is recommended by Legacy that when downloading an external file it is downloaded to a new .fdb file and only merged after weeding out those individuals which are not required.
Personally, I have never, nor never will, download and merge anybody's work without checking the data from original sources.
