Something is wrong with your math. We have 2^n direct ancestors where n
is the number of generations back.

2^1 = 2 parents
2^2 = 4 g-parents
2^3 = 8 gg-parents
etc.
2*23 = 8,388,608 gggggggggggggggggggggg-parents
