Here's one way to do what you're asking.
1) Navigate to the ancestor for which descendants will be tabulated.
2) Clear Tag 1 for Everyone in the database.
3) Set Tag 1 for descendants of individual in step 1.
4) Tools>Set Relationships
set Blood relationships limit to the closest = 1
click "Show the closest direct-line relationship"
set Non-blood relationships limit to the closest = 0
click "Set Relationships"
5) Search>Detailed Search
Individual Tag1 Equal to Tagged
Individual Relationship Equal to Related
click "Clear List before this search"
click "Create List"
6) When Search List displays
click "Print"
click Optional Fields "Customize"
change one of the fields to be "Relationship"
click "Close" on the Customize Display
check the box under Optional fields called "Relshp"
check the other boxes as desired such as RIN, Surname, Sex
click "CSV file"
click "Create"
enter a filename to receive the CSV data
click "Save" (remember the filename and where it is located)
close out of Legacy
7) Open the CSV file with a spreadsheet program like Excel
use the Filter options to count the various relationships
or sort by Relshp and sub-total with each relationship change
8) You could also produce a Descendant report with a "Relationship" column and
then count each type of relationship on the report if you don't want to use an
export to a spreadsheet.
