I'm not sure that anyone did. I think it more likely that lumping was mentioned in relation to Sources. LUGgers tend to fall into one of two groups which we refer to as Lumpers and Splitters. Splitters have lots of similar Master Sources, for example having a different Master Source for every Birth Certificate they cite, whereas Lumpers will have one Master Source for all Birth Certificates, or perhaps one for each Country or State. > Is there a way to do it so individual changes can be made? i.e. My > relative was in the War of 1812 and there are 4 different payroll and > muster roll dates along with spelling his name 4 differeng ways. I don't think you can enter 4 separate dates into a Date field, but you could certainly create one Event and put all the information into the Notes, or most into Notes and something in the Description field. Then attach the 4 different Sources to the one Event. -- Jenny M Benson Legacy User Group guidelines: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Etiquette.asp Archived messages after Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Archived messages from old mail server - before Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Online technical support: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Help.asp Follow Legacy on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/LegacyFamilyTree) and on our blog (http://news.LegacyFamilyTree.com).
