Unfortunately, as has been stated elsewhere, Legacy's SW does not export to GEDCOM very well. I have gotten some info. out that way, and don't have any idea as to why you cannot, but data transformed from SW to GEDCOM is essentially useless w/o manual tweaking. I do not toe the party line on this one either - I think Legacy could have (and should have) at least attempted to convert SW to GEDCOM. IMO, if you can convert SW database info into the nice formatted citations in a report, you could get something almost as nice in a GEDCOM file too. (Yes, I am well aware if you were to re-import such a GEDCOM back into Legacy it would become a basic source - I am fine with that. Give two ways to export SW if that is such a big deal!)
I tend to drop most source info. form my GEDCOMs, just leaving a high level hint and allowing folks to contact me if they want more.
