From your symptom you have one of two possible situations. The most probable, since this is a descendant chart, is that you have a circular link between people in your file. Someone is incorrectly linked as a child for one of their descendants. This can happen where you have several people with the same name and do not have dates to help keep them separated. Legacy will not let you link a father/mother as a child in a family but if there is more than one generation between the two (grandfather linked as a child of a grandson) this will not be caught. You can find likely candidates by searching for people with two sets of parents. Search > Find > Miscellaneous search tab. Individuals with multiple parents.
The less likely situation is that there are intermarriages between descendants (cousins marrying cousins). This one can be a perfectly normal situation. In my personal file there are several marriages between 1st. and 2nd cousins.
