I don't know how large your family file is or whether you've been following
the thread I started on creating a .pdf for everybody, but the purpose of
all this was to make searching a cinch.

Incidentally, I have c 5500 people in my database but LOTS of info &
extensive citations for many of them.

What I ended up doing is this:

Click on Reports>Report Menu>Family.

At the bottom of the window there is a "Record Selection" button. Click on
it.
Select:All individuals in the entire family file (with spouses).
At the bottom of that window check both "Incl Single Males" and "Incl
Single Females."
Click on Report Options, and Include all addresses, events, (and sources if
you want to search them as well).
Click Close.

On the right-hand side of the "Family Group Records" window, select "Text
File,"
in the upper right-hand corner, click on Create,
enter your file name & let Legacy go to work!

After the file is created, perform your search.

(Actually I opened or inserted the file into my word processor because I
think it looks better!)

Searching the new file is a snap!

Let me know if you have any questions.
