I agree. All too often members of this, and many other lists, do not say what they are actually looking for, although I am certainly not saying that it applies in this case.
At one time I would try and guess what was the actual point of the question, as indeed, some still do, however, these days I almost always just try to answer the question as written. Saves an awful lot of time thinking!!
