Sorry that you have been feeling unwell.

I had to check with Windows XP as I have not used that machine for ages!

The procedure is the same for XP and Win7, I do not know about Win8 because
I do not have it installed - maybe someone else can help?

Win7 and XP:

Go to Start>(My) Computer>C Drive>Legacy>Data and open the last folder. On
the bar at the top click Tools>Folder Options>View. Now work down the list
until you reach "Hide extensions for known file types" and uncheck the box.
Click the Apply Button and then the "Apply to Folders" Button at the top,
then OK.

If your family file does not have the extension ".fdb" then opening another
folder and immediately reopening the Data folder should resolve this. Please
come back to us if you have any problems.

In your Data file you should now see a file with the extension ".fdb" and
another with ".zip". These are the only two of interest so, at least for the
moment, you can forget about all the others. Let us know when you have got
to this stage when we can talk about using them.

I have a desktop with Windows XP
The laptop that crashed and am waiting for someone to fix is Windows 7
The new laptop is Windows 8, but hoping to return it and go back to Windows
7

Sorry it took so long to respond, was not feeling well enough to get
on the computer.
Thank you all, again, you are so helpful.
