Hello Bruce

I have not found an automatic way of producing a list of cousins marrying
cousins, however there is a convoluted way of producing a list.

This may take time depending on how many people you have in your database.

I have 33,000, and shortly after I started entering people I started using
tags. I use Tag 1 for blood relatives and Tag 2 for their spouses. So, I
have been doing this for years (and there was no extra work involved for me
at this stage).

By the way I still use Legacy 5. Next - Search - Find - Miscellaneous
Searches = I did a list on Individuals who are married.

I Tagged them 7, then Search - Detailed Search

(line 1) Individual - Tag 7 - Equal to - Tagged
And
(line 2) Individual - Tag 1 - Equal to - Tagged
And
(line 3) Male - Sex - Equal to - Male

Click on Create List - Select - Find Next

Now, as the males are on the right hand side, all you need to do is watch
for a female spouse with a Tag 1 (I colour code Tag 1 RED as it is easier to
spot)

In your search you will obviously find x great grandfathers marrying x great
grandmothers. When I find two red Tag 1s, I click on the Marriage Tag 1.

After this, you will also have to do another search, changing line 3 to:

And
(line 3) Female - Sex - Equal to - Female

I found it quick to do, but it did take just under an hour, you have to work
quickly, clicking through the names, spotting the red Tag 1, otherwise it
will take forever. Of 33,000 - 26,000 had married, but with Tag7 and Tag1
this was reduced to 2,978 males and 3,031 females. You have to search male
and female separately, as a second or third marriage could be to a cousin.

To find cousins marrying cousins - Search - Detailed Search
(line 1) Marriage - Marriage Tag 1 - Equal to - Tagged

You will find that there are not only cousins marrying cousins but 2nd
cousin once removed marrying aunt, and uncle marrying niece (this was in
1850).

After doing this I had 72 relatives marrying relatives. From now on, all I
have to do is tag the marriage Tag 1 when cousins marry cousins.

Regards Alan
