Sylvia, 1) It is likely that your pictures are too big either in dimensions, or number of bytes, or both. There has been a discusson on this list only this week about pictures. I suggest that you search the archives (URL at the end of the page) there have been many discussions on this topic.
2) Why would you wish to do this i.e. reduce the accuracy of your data?
