Nancy, Though the locations were different (cemeteries in Michigan and Illinois), the idea is the same. I used the Search > Find > Detailed Search feature, and then worked with the Print options to get the report to be useful (I was asking my folks to take pictures, so needed married names on the wives, etc.).
There are only 3 things you can search on at once, so you might need to do many searches. You might want to do it by country, giving 3 different reports. Still, you might want to check baptism and burial places, not just VR (BMD). Here's a suggestion: 1. Search individuals for born or baptized place contains Ireland (clear list radio button at bottom) 2. Search individuals for died or buried place contains Ireland (add to the list radio button at bottom) 3. Search marriages for married contains Ireland (add to the list radio button at bottom) 4. Click on Print to lay out the rows of information Then do that for the other 2 countries, giving 3 reports. I just did this for Ireland in my database and got 31 pages (surprised me) with the individual, birth, bapt, death, bur dt/place on Row 1 and 1st spouse name, marr dt/place on Row 2. Didn't do an analysis of results, but it looks right. You can play around with it some, to see what other fields to report. Will you have access to a computer while you are there? I remember taking my little netbook with Legacy loaded. Hoping to do some research there on my ancestors perhaps. What would be helpful is to make a list of all the people in my database that have a Vital Record event happening in one of these countries so that I am organized with what I know before I go.. Is there a way to generate a report of all people who was born, married or died in these countries including when and where? I tried tagging by location but it's awkward to sort the report. Does anyone else have some suggestions on how to prepare for this kind of a trip? Any ideas would be welcomed. Regards & Happy New Year, Nancy A.
