Apart from the Name field, there are 4 places (fields) where you can enter Event information: Description, Date, Place and Notes. When you say you are typing in the "dec/notes area" I *think* you are meaning you are only typing in the Notes field and not using Description, Date or Place.
When you are looking at the Individual's screen, although the Events/Facts area has a wide column headed Desc/Place/Notes you don't usually see all this information (if all three fields have been used) but just as much as will show in that column width. If, for example, you enter quite a lot of information in the Description field you will only see the start of that in the Desc/Place/Notes column and nothing else. On the other hand, if, say, you have only entered a few words in the Place field and no Description or Notes you will probably see all of the Place entry when viewing the Individual's screen. Having said all that, if all you have entered for the Event/Fact is an Event Name and something in the Notes field, you should see at least the start of your Notes...unless you have a blank line at the start of your Notes. Are you putting a blank line at the start? If that's not the problem I can't see why you are not seeing *something* in the Events/Facts area of the Individual's Information screen. You are seeing the Event Name, I presume? -- Jenny M Benson Legacy User Group guidelines: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Etiquette.asp Archived messages after Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Archived messages from old mail server - before Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Online technical support: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Help.asp Follow Legacy on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/LegacyFamilyTree) and on our blog (http://news.LegacyFamilyTree.com).
