The default should be 1 inch. The 4 inch setting is a carry-over from an old problem with cm as the default units of measure. I just checked the status of the issue and see that, although some of the setting problems have been fixed there are still parts of the problem outstanding. The Individual report should be fixed though but there may still be cases where a problem margin has not been fixed because the user has not reset the margins since the partial fix was issued in build 217.
