Regards, Jerry Jerry, Have you gone to your Options>Customize and on the Data Entry tab there is a block called Presumed Dead where you can input your cut off years for : Ask if Living if over (choose age) Set as dead of over (choose age) and Click the Apply button and it will go through your database and set those that fit the criteria to dead. However if you have people with no birth or death date you will have to go through your file and tag those that are missing the info and then manually change their living flag. For any new people you enter you can set what the Living Indicator Default is on the Data Defaults tab. To find individuals who are missing birth dates you can open the Search box and go to Missing Information tab and choose the criteria for the information you want and then tag the search results. One of the first things I did when cleaning up the data was to find all the obvious people that were dead that still had their living indicator set. I have a question about exporting to a GEDCOM file and preserving privacy of living people. Although I am familiar with the selections in the "Privacy" tab of the GEDCOM Export function, my problem is that I have numerous entries with no death date because they are unknown, so it appears to the Export function that these people are still living. I've seen other family tree programs offer to assume people are dead after 100 years, or some user-defined number.
