Probably best if you reply off-list to [email protected] I consider myself pretty good at PC technology, but I am a MAC newbie. I'm interested in how I get a Windows program like Legacy to run on a MAC.
I've heard of "Parallels" and "boot-camp" - how do they compare (price, ease of install, functionality once installed)? Do they allow me to be in "MAC mode" and run Legacy, or do I need to boot direct into a Windows environment? Do they come with a Windows emulator? Or is there a free (or cheap) emulator I can download? Or do I need a regular Windows license? Once I have either Parallels or boot-camp installed, how do I install Windows (or a Windows emulator)? Once Windows is running, are their any tricks to installing a Windows program (like Legacy)? Do I need to install/run a separate instance of Parallels (or boot-camp) for each Windows program? Or once Parallels (or boot-camp) is installed, I can then install multiple Windows programs with that product? Are there any other products I should consider besides Boot-camp and parallels? For example, does Sun/Oracle offer a "VM box" for Mac that will then run Windows programs? (yes, I know, I can find that specific question on Sun's sight, just using that as an example since I've used Sun's VM box under Windows). I appreciate any advice you can give. And, again, since this is not directly Legacy related, please reply to me directly, off-list.
