John - In the righthand column of the Event Report window is an option/button to Change Fonts. I went down the list of items to Include and changed every font to Liberation Mono. I believe this is just a more contemporary version of a monospaced font than Courier. The font change seems to affect only the Event report.
When you are choosing a font, at the bottom of the window is a note whether it is an Open Type font which will be used on both your printer and your screen - or a screen font in which case the closest matching printer font will be used for printing. Courier is a screen font; Courier New is an Open Type font. I think you will want an Open Type font rather than a screen font for your report.
