Larry,

This is an issue where there are as many recommendations as there are people.
Everybody has their own system, and if it works for them, that’s all that
counts. You can find lots of discussions/suggestions in the archives.

One of the pitfalls is ensuring that the links in Legacy get updated to the new
location. If you use Windows Explorer to move the photos to another folder,
Legacy’s link is still pointing to the old location. Legacy has some ability to
update links to the new location, but others can comment on that more than I
can. I’ve never done it. I know it can automatically update when you have just
changed a directory (e.g. moved all photos from let’s say C:\Pictures to
C:\Pics), but in your case it’s sounds like they are all over the place.

Subject: [LegacyUG] Picture File Locations

By using the Options>Customize>Locations "View Current List of Multimedia
Locations..." button, I find that I've been storing pictures and images of
documents attached to my database in many locations on my computer.
Is there an EASY way to re-organize these materials (perhaps one folder for
photographs of individuals or places, another for document images) for Legacy?
And, what pitfalls should I watch out for as I re-organize?
