Are there multiple links to those people from the starting person. In those cases it is entirely possible that they are 8th Great Grandparents but on two different paths. The second set are 8th Great GrParents on one path but also 9th on the path you are following. Legacy always reports the shortest direct line relationship so the 8th Gr GrParent shows even when you are on the path where they are 9th. There should be a + sign beside their relationship above the names, Click that to see the other path(s).
