It worked!  I was able to export exactly what I wanted :)

You can only do this if you are exporting to a GEDCOM not to a new Legacy File 
Go to File > Export to > GEDCOM On the GEDCOM export screen remove the check 
mark from the override...
include all source information
Click Customize
In the group of items to Exclude click on Sources OK, Export

Import that file into a New Legacy file and there will be no sources.
