Please don't mess with the basics of Family view. It's one of the things I like best about Legacy vs. the competitors. It's three generation presentation (in a vertical format!), with a separate marriage line, is perfect. If you compare it to the nearest competitor visually, Roots Magic puts parents in the upper left, grandparents in the upper right, and marriage is just a line under the husband. Yes, all the same information is there, but...........
And, the other thing that I like even more than the format is the ability to dynamically increase font size to make text really large on a large monitor (stretch fonts when resizing option). That's more important to my old eyes than cramming more information on a single screen. Me as well. But I do agree with Brian's comment about the limited availability of screen space to display things on. Me, I'd do away with the toolbar in favour of 6 lines :-) -- Regards, Mike Fry Johannesburg (g) Legacy User Group guidelines: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Etiquette.asp Archived messages after Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Archived messages from old mail server - before Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Online technical support: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Help.asp Follow Legacy on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/LegacyFamilyTree) and on our blog (http://news.LegacyFamilyTree.com).
