Important rule of backup.  A backup is not a backup unless you can restore data
from it.  Be sure you are able to restore.  Practice before it is needed.

Legacy can place the zip backup files anywhere but the default is
C:\Legacy\Data.  It sounds like you do not have the current working database
and therefore need to restore a zip backup file.  Can you locate your zip
backup files?  Once you find the zip files, then you should use the
File>Restore Family File inside Legacy to expand the database structures for
use on your computer.

Subject: [LegacyUG] A real problem with backup

I despertly need your help.  I have an updated
Legacy Deluxe.  I just went to my backup folder to see what was in it
and I can't retrieve it.  Obviously, I did something wrong in backing it
up.

1) I do not have a file with a fdb
extension.
2) When I go out, the pop-up says "Baker
Schwarting.fab"  I know that is not correct
3) When I go to search for file - it says "f. Baker
Schwarting.zip" and can't open to read -gobbley-gook

HELP - I need to start back at step 1 and
back-up correctly.  It is obviousl I haven't been backing up
correctly from the very beginning.
