These odd changes to the Modified Date do seem to be related to using Family
Search from within Legacy. Many thanks to Bob who discovered this. I know
that Jim from tech support said that this was not reversible, however, that
would seem to not be the case. Since I have been still holding off entering
new information, I tried to restore from my last backup before August 29 - and
it worked! No errors, and best of all, my old modified dates have returned!
The only thing I need to re-enter is the info that I was working on the day I
updated and visited Family Search. So the latest version does indeed seem to
work when restoring an older backup from previous version. I will not be
visiting Family Search again from within Legacy unless I know this has been
fixed.

Everything in my data appears to be ok, unless there is something else I don't
see that is not right about the database.

This is yet another example of why I will not use FS. Overall, linking to FS
seems to be creating problems that far outweigh any benefits. I will stick
with manually searching FS and/or Ancestry. If any changes are made or data
added to my database, it will be by my choice only.

I wouldn't be surprised to learn that FS changed the
last-modified date in one's desktop data. I know for a fact
that merely /looking/ at the details at FS creates a
change-record and stamps you as the maker of the last change.

Since it appears that my dates have changed also, I did a little bit of
playing around tonight trying to pinpoint the problem. What made me
curious was the fact that some people said their dates did change while
    others said they didn't.
I noticed that the last modified date would change if I logged into
Family Search from within Legacy and simply looked at the possible
matches for an individual. I simply looked - didn't update any of the
information either from or to Family Search.
If someone else could take a look at this it MAY explain why some
peoples dates changed and others did not. Perhaps those that did had
accessed Family Search and those that didn't did not access it. Just a
    thought . . .
