For what its worth... I just noticed that my system was not using abandoned RIN's even though the "Reuse abandoned RIN's" flag in the Options/data defaults screen was set to the on position (i.e. it was ticked).
To fix the issue I un-ticked the "Reuse abandoned RIN's" flag in the Options/data defaults screen and saved the setting. I then went back to the "Reuse abandoned RIN's" flag in the Options/data defaults screen and ticked the setting to on. Saved the setting. When I tried adding a new individual the Reuse Abandoned RIN's was again functioning as it should.
