Elaine,

This is not a Legacy problem; this is a Windows8 problem. Many people
found that the new Windows 8.0 tiled user interface did not work well
for some of the things they were used to doing with a computer. Many
users found it hard to find their ways around 8.0

You wrote your message on October 15. On Thursday, October 17,
Microsoft launched Windows 8.1. It addresses some of the biggest
problems users had with windows 8.0, which was released a year ago.
You might want to read about the changes in Windows 8.1 (free upgrade
for those using 8.0).

I personally did not upgrade to Windows 8.0, but my husband has Windows
8.0, and he is fine with it.
Good luck!
Pauline
