Good day all I’ve just had to restore everything from a crashed PC. I have trawled the LUG archives but can’t really find my answer. The family file is restored OK, but I want to know how to get the family database restore to recognize where the media files go. I have them unzipped and extracted to legacy\pictures at the moment. But short of browsing each file and linking them all up again, what can be done?
It seems that from previous correspondence and a review of the extracted files that they are snippets from the main drive, e.g. in the extract there’s a folder Ancestral with some files, another folder with more, etc. In other words the backup seems to keep the original placeholders, but to restore seems to be the problem. I have a little inkling that each original file may not be in its exact original place. Could that be the problem?
